Prayer

I've been thinking alot about prayer lately. Well, mostly about how God answers prayers. When I was pregnant I wanted a miracle, I prayed for Gods will, but at the same time I wanted my will, my desire, a baby to hold. God knew that, he knew what I wanted. When I didn't get what I wanted I was okay, I really amazingly was. I knew, I know, that God is in control but did he answer my prayer?

Becca has been asking me for a LuLu. (LuLu is parker girl translation of some silly looking doll you can get from build-a-bear) Last time we went to build-a-bear Becca picked out a bear or something and Emma picked out this doll. Now of course many months later Becca wants what her sister has, and she asks me for it constantly. My answer has been not right now, you will have to wait. She has asked me a question and I have answered her, it's not at all what she wants to hear, but all the same she has been given an answer.

God answers all heartfelt prayers. His answer might be yes, it might be no, or it may be wait. If His answer is no or wait we cannot say that our prayer has not been answered, just because it was not the answer we wanted or expected to hear. Just like Becca asking for a LuLu the answer she was given is not one she wants to hear, but she knows that I Love her. I will not let her down, I know what is best for her right now, in the same way God knows what is best for us. I can rest assured knowing that He is in control, He is not surprised by anything that is happening, God loves me!

"No matter where we are, God is as close as a prayer"

Random picture Challenge

I found this on a blog I just started following and thought it looked kind of fun.... so here we go. Random picture challenge brought to you by

8th folder - May
25th picture

This was taken at Emmas firt birthday party at Bella and Poppys. We did a daisy theme, yellow and white. The party favors were yellow bubbles that I had decorated with Emmas name and birth date on them. Gran made the cupcakes and Josh and I helped make the flower cookies on a stick. Josh and I had just found out we were pregnant with Taylor, the first baby we lost. It may sound silly but I have pictures of myself when I was pregnant with all 3 babies we lost, I enjoy looking at them and knowing that they were there at that moment. Wow look at the memories one picture can bring back! I can't believe we are fixing to celebrate Emmas 3rd birthday, it seems like just yesterday we were planning her 1st.

Rainy Days

Rainy days.... I don't really like them, I woke up this morning dreading the day before me. All I could think about was being stuck in the house all day, I wasn't happy, I was downright crabby. Then I noticed my girls were oblivious to the rain outside, my mood wasn't bothering them either. They were happily building tents for their dolls, building towers with blocks, and setting up a whole town for their dollhouse people. I then made a decision, I could be crabby all day or I could jump in with them. So I slowed down, looked around me, and realized that maybe, just maybe rainy days weren't so bad afterall!

What do you do when the rain won't stop?
Well if you were these two girls...

you might get dressed up and have a tea party for lunch...

And then when the rain stops you might, well the pictures say it all.....

Psalm 106:1 Praise the Lord!
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Easter Tree (part 3)

The Cross, the real Easter tree. Six hours. One Friday. That day in history changed the world forever.
This is an excerpt taken from Max Lucado "And the Angels were Silent"

Pilate wants to let Jesus go. Just give me a reason he thinks, almost aloud. I'll set you free.
His thoughts are interrupted by a tap on the shoulder. A messenger leans and whispers. Strange. Pilate's wife has sent word not to get involved the case. Something about a dream she had. Pilate walks back to his chair, sits, and stares at Jesus. "Even the gods are on your side?" he states with no explanation....
How many wide eyes have stared at him, pleading for mercy, begging for acquittal? But the eyes of this Nazarene are calm, silent....
He's not angry with me. He's not afraid...he seems to understand...
"What should I do with Jesus, the one called the Christ?"...
What do you do with a man who claims to be God, yet hates religion?...What do you do with a man who knows the place and time of his death, yet goes there anyway?...
You can reject him...
Or you can accept him. You can journey with him. You can listen for his voice amidst the hundreds of voices and follow him.

This Easter in the midst of all the family, traditions, egg hunts, lets not forget the reason we have this holiday. I was a sinner condemmed to die, but Jesus came and took my place. How painful those hours before his death must have been for him, but he faced them with love and conviction, he willingly gave up his life for me.

The Easter Tree (part 2)

Every Easter my family has always headed up to Granny and Grendaddys house after church. We eat a big lunch, have a serious Easter Egg Hunt, (you know the kind, get out of our way that egg is mine! yea, thats the kind) Then for as long as I can remember we head over to the "Easter Tree" to take family pictures. This Easter tree does not have ornaments hanging from it, it stands tall in the yard all year long, It is the only tree in the yard with a name. It's just a huge tree that has forked off in the middle and every year we all gather around it or climb up in it and take pictures. I don't know who started calling it the Easter Tree but the name stuck, and whenever you say it everyone including my girls know exactly what tree you are talking about. This tree and these pictures have become so important to me as you look back you can see how our family has changed and grown. So this Easter rain or shine we will have our picture taken with the Easter tree, another old tradition that I plan on keeping forever!

Easter Tree (part 1)

When I was a little girls every Easter my Granny Woodard would have us, her grandkids, over to decorate a Easter tree. We would find the perfect branch or stick off the ground stick it in a pot and decorate it with all these little easter eggs, bunnies and other ornaments. As we grew older we stopped decorating the Easter tree and I forgot about it. Then I had kids of my own, with a young family we are always starting new traditions, I started thinking about Granny Woodards Easter tree and thought that would be a great tradition to bring back. After Granny passed away I was given her Easter tree ornaments, so for the second year the girls and I have gone out looking for the perfect stick, brought it in, stuck it in a pot, and decorated it with Grannys ornaments. While we are decorating I tell them my childhood memories of Granny Woodard and all the fun things she used to do with us. Here are this years pictures of our Easter tree.
